Show Notes:

What if America’s deepest crisis isn’t primarily political, but a crisis of identity, fatherhood, and purpose?

In Part 1, Carmen Lindsay sits down with Pastor Charles Karuku to explore what it takes to see genuine transformation in individuals, families, communities, and entire cities.

Pastor Charles shares his remarkable story of being born in Kenya after his father was killed, growing up without a father, and entering his teenage years angry, reckless, and searching for direction. His life began to change when he encountered Christ and discovered a truth that continues to shape his ministry today: it doesn’t matter how you were born; it matters why you were born.

From there, Carmen and Charles confront the devastating effects of fatherlessness and the search for identity it can leave behind. They discuss the influence of music and culture, the need for healing and reconciliation, and Charles’ experience ministering in Minneapolis during the unrest following George Floyd’s death.
